FICO is selling EX FICO scores again now

Postby MemberSince99 » Thu Jun 13, 2013 8:17 pm

I just saw it over there, looks like you can buy all 3 scores again. Not sure how that happened but I'd say it's a pretty good thing!

I'm going to wait until my Amex cards post to buy mine. Actually maybe I should do it now, then again after they post to the bureaus and see what the difference is.....hummmmmm

So I did it. I figured this is educational, I want the answers.

I was kind of surprised. I saw the following:
TU: 762 EQ 749 EX: 754

That differs from what FNBO reported a couple of months ago but there are new inquiries and accounts but that was a hell of a drop. Also I wonder why EQ is so much lower than TU is. They have about the same inquiries, and the same number of new accounts, one of them must be using a new scoring model. They used to be within a point or two of each other.

As far as inquiries go FICO shows in the past year 6 on TU, 5 on EQ and 9 (shudder) on EX, however 3 of the EX inquiries will have fallen off on 7/1 leaving me with 6 on there, 2 from EQ leaving me with 3 on there, and 2 more on TU. So that won't be too terrible in a few weeks.

I would assume as soon as the Amex cards report they should get a nice bump. So yeah maybe I just wasted 60 dollars, but as I said it's educational so for that alone I figured it was worth it. Will now go and update my scores in signature

Last but not least I used my Amex Gold to pay for it....

Also one final thing about that site - I am banned for life from their community of garden fanatics, ok I don't need to post there but I could still read as long as I didn't log in. Now that I logged in to get my scores, it's like they got my IP so I can't even read. I mean what did that hurt, me reading about those garden cultists defining the meaning of their pathetic lives in terms of a seedling or a spade. Wow, what's the point, I couldn't post, now I can't read using this IP anyway. I can get around that, I just did by enabling "Inprivate browsing", and I have other PCs I can use, an IPhone, etc, there are ways around it, but it's almost like why bother, I don't think I even care to read it now to be honest. They are something else. Life is too short for that.

Did you get a message saying they couldn't display the factors that affect your score in a positive way (or something to that effect)?

They might preach about gardening, but they leave the garden all the time. "Thou shall not app in vain".

Oh, and their obsession with NFCU is nauseating.

No I don't remember seeing that, I just went back and checked it, but don't see that anywhere.

Yeah I know they do. I mean why not? Why should I keep myself from a great card for a stupid bronze spade icon on their chat site? I mean that's dumber than hell, they should go for what they want in life it's the only way to get it.

They do love NFCU but they also love Amex. Amex and I, we have kind of a love-hate kind of thing - they either love me, or hate me, and not much in the middle. And it can go from one to the other to back again in a year....

Seriously, guys, if you have been banned from MyFICO, you can still read if you enable inprivate browsing, just google it, it will tell you how to do it, then go there and you can read. That's the quickest and easiest way, short of using an IP they don't know about and not logging in from there of course. Don't tell them though or they'll block that and you will only screw yourselves by talking. I didn't even bother to read once I got in, I thought if they REALLY want me gone the hell with them, though of course they were delighted to take my money for the scores, they didn't ban me from THAT....

Bah, MyFICO forums are infuriating anyways, you wouldn't have been missing much. At least they aren't as depressing as creditboards though, that place gives me flashbacks to the dark days.

My EQ is almost always the lowest of the three, TU is usually the highest. EX stays closer in line to TU but doesn't top it.

If it makes you feel any better, I have 22(!) inquiries on TU for the last two years. I don't visit myFICO or care to, but I guess I really better stay away cause that many inquiries would probably brand me a credit heretic and earn their scorn for life. Not to mention the Inquiry Police arresting me (again). I don't sweat inquiries and still get a majority of the cards and CLIs I try for.

If they found out you have 22 inquiries, they'd be screaming how you've angered the credit gods who will curse you to spend eternity in toy limit land, and you wouldn't even get a seedling to boot.

Honestly I've found that if a lender WANTS to approve you, inquiries don't really matter that much, within reason. If they don't want to approve you, that will be the top or maybe only thing on the reject list. Why? Because it's the worst thing they can say about you and they have to give some reason. And if that's the worst reason they can come up with you're doing something right. It's like a "performance review" at work, even if you are the "perfect employee" they simply have to come up with some reason why you got a 2% raise this year just like last year. Just part of the game.

Good news, but not needed for the moment. I just got a tri-pull from our mortgage.

Haha, I tossed my spade out the window a long time ago. I'm just using my credit as a tool, really whoring it out and getting whatever returns I can from it. Hell as long as you aren't paying interest, its free money isn't it? It's kind of fun to see how much you get out of the CC companies before really pissing them off, and in turn growing a credit profile for future use.
