What's best for me? (mid 600's score, want reward flights to Vegas)

Hello all,

It has come to my knowledge that I should obtain a rewards CC, and just use the card for everything possible, (which my debit card currently does) and just pay it off every month.

I like to visit Las Vegas, and I'm by no means a high roller. Flights are a bit expensive from Raleigh, NC so anything would help! I've looked at the Sapphire preferred from Chase and that seems to be really good.

My current situation is:
One 1st Financial Visa Platinum card(12k limit) currently has 500$ on it, I have a Credit card with my bank (5k limit) and it has 1400$ on it. I have a belks credit card as well, for some dumb reason. Not sure what the limit is, but it has a 0$ balance. My credit(last I checked) was around 640-650. My uncle who owns a car dealership checks it for me for free once a year. I'm 26 by the way if that helps.

My predicament is that I don't know which card to get, as mentioned above I love the Sapphire so far, but you have to spend 3k a month on the card to get the 40,000 points. I could easily do that, but unfortunately my rent can only be submitted by: money order, check, or direct draft from my bank(which I use). Not sure if there is a way around that or not, but thats 650$ that I usually spend a month, my bills are about 1,000$ a month. Not including gas, food, movies, misc. That's just electricity,cable/internet,rent,phone. So I don't know if I should try for this card, as I'm really not sure if I could spend 1k a month for 3 months, although, I do want to book a trip here soon, definitely in the next few weeks, so maybe that would help.

Not sure what to do! Any advice would be great =)

Thank you

Sorry for the wrong number, just found the credit report today. It's actually a beacon 5.0 (auto finance) score of 751.

The Chase Visa Southwest card is pretty good, and since you have Sapphire already I'm sure you won't have a problem being approved.
