That's another way to get in with GE. They are well known for growing with you and I have personal experience with that so it's a good option for you.

can one get a Walmart Discover with that shopping cart trick? Would like to get monthly ficos free

No not that I know of, I don't know that the shopping cart trick works with the Walmart card, just wanted to mention that one as it's GE and he could build it up pretty good. Sorry for the confusion!

Took the first step and got approved for the Amazon Card (non Visa)! Also have been looking into writing a GW to the medical place that I had charged off (never got my address forwarded years ago)! Thanks to everyone for the tips.

Congratulations to you!!! I can tell you from experience you should use that card every month and pay them in full before the due date. You will see auto limit increases that way and it will grow. You have taken your first step so congratulations and keep up the good work! Good luck with the GW letter too that's a great idea.

Now I'm confused hahahaha

MyFico TU score is listed as 647 but my score on the TU site (free trial) is listed at 689. How can these be different if reported by one place

Well it depends which score they show you. I think it can be complicated, but it is generally good advice to look at the name of the score algorithm you are getting (like Vantage or TransRisk or Fico08 etc). I think many here on the forum look at multiple reports of their score from similar algorithms, and assume their score is in that range. For instance I have 30 point variation in my scores currently.

What is everyone else's opinion here?

Daniel, that makes sense. Just read at the bottom of my info:

"The VantageScore Credit Score is provided to help you better understand how lenders view your credit report"

So I am assuming that the score is my TU vantage score. I'm slowly learning hahahaha

It's a FAKO, not the same score, the only place you can get your FICO score is from the FICO site. They can be quite different as you saw.

Yes, the TU vantage score is one that is not as widely used. The most widely used and important one is the FICO version.
