How does the UR mall work?

Postby paparoach429 » Mon Jun 03, 2013 4:00 am

So me and my family plan on taking a trip next month to Florida and was wondering how the UR mall works as far as discounts for booking it through them. I heard somewhere that you get a 20% discount but is that a 20% discount by using strictly points (not just paying using the card)?

That is correct, and the discount is only if you're actually redeeming UR points to make the purchase, not transferring them to a loyalty program such as United MileagePlus (which could still end up beating the 20% discount). If you want to pay with the card, your best bet is to login to the UR mall and use its link to Travelocity (3pts/$) or Expedia/Hotwire/Priceline/Orbitz (2pts/$).
$2500 First Hawaiian Bank (6/10)
$4500 CHASE Freedom (2/13)
$3500 Citi Forward (2/13)
$2000 Discover it (2/13)
$9600 AMEX BCE (3/13)
$10000 CHASE Sapphire Preferred (7/13)
$5000 CHASE Ink Plus (8/13)

+1 what matty said

In my experience the 20% discount is on a 25% markup...I use the UR mall to port to other vendors and book though them. That way you still get your UR bonus points and you don't get gouged on the price.

Good luck!
