Just to follow this up, after thinking about it, I want to apply for Freedom in December, give the CSP a good 6 months, but then apply right before the end of the year, and stay app free all next year, or at the very least, app only if I need to replace something in my existing lineup due to unforeseen reasons.

The point of that is to get as clean as possible before going for property ownership. Renting seems like a dead end. And a waste of money. Having only a few inquiries this year and none or a few next year and continuing with what I have in good shape would mean smooth sailing I would think. Ideally I'd go 2014 without any inquiries. From a score perspective that should be fine, though once you get over 760 anything extra doesn't matter anyway currently.

But that's the plan. I want to give Chase 6 months of great use with that CSP. Who knows maybe I can get a CLI with it around then. Just don't want to take any hard pulls next year if I don't have to. So December seems like a logical time to do that.

Yeah, we get heat over here. On Mother's day, it was approximately 97-100 degrees outside. You might as well get a mortgage, but it's still expensive. Now if you move to the desert or central valley, It's much cheaper.

How do you like Wisconsin? the closest I've been to up there is Illinois, where I have family in Chicago. You could always move to California, but it's expensive unless you have a decent income, find somewhere you think you like and move, you may never know how good it can be.

I hope so to. They aren't hiring at the moment, but when they do, I will be submitting in app. From an officer I talked to, he says that it every 1 out of 10 applicants that make it through the process and out on to the road, so I do hope to be one of the few that do.

I actually signed up for a student checking account with Chase, so I have one with them and BOFA. I think you should stay with Associated since you have been with them. I didn't necessarily sign up to get their cards, but rather I just needed another to keep some extra money and prevent me from spending it As I remember you telling me, you never know until you try.

Yes, everybody for reasons beyond me, pulls EX in Southern California. I actually don't plan to apply for anything for at least a year or 2, as to let my cards age and my income will start going up hopefully. Plus I don't need any more cards either (5 is more then enough for me at this point.) so no more apps, but possibly in the future.

Congrats. Discover and Chase, 2 banks I've burned in the past...and one I'm technically still fighting. At least for now, I don't yearn for any of their cards, but to be fair, I won't look into what they have to offer so that I do not change my mind. I just want 3 credit cards, maybe a store card or two included, and that it is. Rotating credit can become a day job if I'm not careful making sure I'm maximizing my credit report's potential.
