Z Gallerie credit card reviews? Should I apply or not?

Postby litany1 » Tue May 07, 2013 4:38 pm

Does anyone on this site have the Z Gallerie card and if so can they share their opinions of it?

I am really interested in getting it because of they have a promotion where you can buy with no down payment and take one year to pay. To boot there is a $25 rewards card for each $500 spent. Unsure if they give fractional rewards for below $500 though.

The bank behind them is Comenity?

Never heard of the store and never heard of the bank, so I'd say no. I looked at some of their beds, they are all over $1000... so what if you get a card with a $500 (or lower) limit?

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred

Would you apply for the Z Gallerie credit card to finance a couple big ticket items or would this be a card you would regularly be using for shopping at their stores?

If your main motivation is getting the card to finance a big purchase, if you have a decent credit score it would be more beneficial to get a major credit card that gives 0% interest because from what I can see, Z Gallerie uses retroactive 0% (deferred interest) if you don't pay off the purchase in time. Major credit cards from banks don't do that.

You may also be able to find a 0% offer that comes with a cash back bonus. That page has our sponsored listings which are constantly updated.

Good luck!
