NFC payments

Postby MB131174 » Thu May 02, 2013 7:31 pm

So what does everyone think of using NFC vs an actual card? Me personally, I can't wait for NFC to make a bigger presence in general every day use. It will be so nice to carry a digital wallet vs a spine-misalligning physical wallet. This is true for us who have to carry things such as a personal AmEx, a business AmEx, a back up personal Visa, a back up business Visa, personal debit card, business debit card, etc etc.

From all the articles I've read (eg. R.I.P., Credit Cards: New Tech May Signal the Death of Plastic - DailyFinance), estimates are that NFC-enabled smartphones won't become ubiquitous until 2015-2017...

It'll be an interesting paradigm shift, that's for sure, whereupon the color/material/brand of one's card no longer bears relevance.
