You've got quite a lot of cards but with generally anemic credit lines, mainly because of the age factor. Your scores are probably depressed because of that too, even though you pay your bills on time. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

But I agree, getting the utilization under 10% is a worthy goal. It concentrates your efforts to that end and it allows time to build up on the products you have now. Don't worry about CLIs for right now...they will come in time. Your new Sapphire will be the anchor that brings the others up. Garden it well.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Any recommendations on how to "garden" a card? Should I try to use it often to get high balances and pay it off completely each month? Keep a low but consistent balance? Pay before or after the statement each month? I agree the age is killing me, but like all youngins' I have no patience. :P

Gardening is exactly what it sounds like. Use it often and pay it on time. If you do that, a year from now, a CLI from Chase is a no-brainer since you continue to be a good customer. And I would sprinkle purchases across the cards you really care about, too make sure they aren't neglected when it comes to future CLIs.
Cards:
American Express Platinum (NPSL)
Penfed Platinum Reward Visa ($28K)
Chase Freedom Visa ($25K)
Fidelity American Express ($20K)
American Express Blue Cash Preferred ($20K)
Bank of America Cash Rewards MasterCard ($20K)
Citi Thank You Preferred Visa ($9.5K)
Chase Sapphire Preferred ($7.5K)
US Bank Cash + Visa Signature ($7K)
Discover IT ($4K)
