Haven't app'd since last year

Postby MemberSince99 » Thu Apr 11, 2013 10:01 pm

Simply because I don't see anything worth app'ing for that I could realistically get. And I don't see that changing anytime soon either.

In case anyone is going to suggest them, I'm blacklisted with Amex, Citi hates me and woulnd't touch me with a 10 foot pole even though I've never burned them, and I have burned Chase and badly and would just as soon leave that be. I don't qualify for PenFed or NFCU or anything like that.

Doesn't leave much that's of interest that I don't already have, honestly. I guess losing the inquiries and letting things age isn't a bad thing. Stilll planning to kick Discover to the curb if no auto CLI of at least 500 bucks by July. Otherwise, no real plans to do anything.

PenFed actually will help you join one of two organizations which will then make you eligible to be a PenFed member, without needing to have military service. So that's something to think of. They have some pretty good products.

Why do you want to close the discover account if you also want to let your accounts age?
Amex Zync
Chase Marriot Premier
Discover IT
WF Platinum Cash Back

Are you legit blacklisted with Amex or figure of speech? Why?
Is there any particular store you really like that offers a cc in visa/mc that you wouldn't mind having?

I don't want any major card accounts with sub 5k limits. Every other major credit card I have is 5k or higher. The only exception is Target, which I'm fine with having a 1k limit with. They seem to be pretty stingy, or at least they are with me.

I'm legit blacklisted. The last time I app'd for Amex, last summer, it was not a hard pull and the reason it was declined was "Amex closed your previous accounts". If that happens, you are blacklisted.

Why....wow long story. 11 years ago I burned them on 2 accounts it wasn't much money honestly but I couldn't afford to pay it with the economy tanking and losing my job and taking a job for a lot less and so on. I'm not making excuses, just saying I couldn't pay my creditors. They charged off the accounts. Last year for the heck of it I checked if I "pre-qualified" for an Amex and most of the cards they had were listed. I was like yeah right, but app'd and got instant approval. I got two others then app'd for Platinum, and they declined it due to "Amex closing your previous accounts". I couldn't get a straight answer as to what was going on so I closed the accounts, and I think I just slipped through the cracks with them. Amex doesn't forgive. Just as well as honestly the ONLY thing they have going for them is the card is good to impress chicks with. Other than that I couldn't care less about them anymore.

Not that I know of, I'm just not excited by anything right now. Which is why I have 0 apps in 2013.
