Do utilities report late payments?

Postby Mentadentt » Sat Apr 06, 2013 6:02 pm

So im new to the whole credit world and im wondering if being late on cable TV payments affects credit score? My mom opened up an account under my name (without my knowledge) and failed to pay two months in a row. The payments are now up to date. She claims she didnt use my SSN number to open the account.

What other utilities or random things should i keep in mind that can affect my credit for future reference?

It all depends on the company, I know Verizon does if that's who you have.
My Cards

Chase Freedom Visa Signature: $5.2K
Capital One Quicksilver Visa: $7.5K
Discover IT: $5.5K
Huntington Voice World Mastercard: $1.6K

In the garden indefinitely.

From what I remember when working at a debt settlement company they can report under collections if not ever payed. However, I don't believe it reports late on CR if its payed late. As long as you pay the bill you should be fine. Typically only credit lines for example a Chase Freedom card will have a C for current or D for delinquent. To be on the safe side I would contact your service provider. Don't want to have a negative mark on your CR. b
