What are my chances of getting a Freedom?

Postby paparoach429 » Thu Mar 21, 2013 1:21 am

I figured I spend a decent amount of money at gas stations so Id like to add a Freedom to my cards. I also want to dump my Capital One secured card within this next year so I want another major credit card. I recently just put ALOT of inquiries on my credit reports due to a new car loan. I believe all of my inquiries for credit cards will be off my report in June except for my Amex hard pull that I just got in December. What are my chances, in June, of getting approved for a Freedom with all these inquires?

It's not THAT hard a card to get. Obviously without knowing your history, scores, etc, it's just WAG as to whether you would get it. But I've heard high 600s is good enough if everything else fits, and even if you are denied initially Chase is one of the easiest to recon with. I recon'd with them 3 times to get a Freedom. It just depends on the analyst you talk with.

Before I got the car loans my transunion was at 688, and I believe experian was 735. Im more concerned with how the inquiries get factored in. I checked my credit report yesturday and all but 3 of the inquiries for credit cards will be off by June. 2 out of the remaining 3 are both over 2 years old. So I guess the only inquiries that get factored into scoring purposes are my Amex pull in December and all of my auto loan pulls.

Well like I said my scores before I physically got the car was 688 and 735. I have less than 10% utilization on all my cards and no other debt other than the car. Im waiting to pull a copy of all 3 reports until June until majority of inquiries fall off.

It's an easy recon if you don't get it, I would think. But it's honestly not as hard as you may be thinking it is.

Just explain in a recon they are for an auto loan if need be. I doubt one new account will bother them.

Obviously there are no guarantees, if you are looking for one I can't offer that - nothing is guaranteed but death and taxes, both of which are bad by the way.

I say just go for it if you can stomach the inquiry. They are good with recons.
