For a Guitar center credit card. 10 % off by using the card with an APR of 22.9% one year zero interest. Typical store card. I had one years ago and never used it. Now as far as being a car nut I'm also a musician and have spent allot of money and allot of time at Guitar center. It is addicting for sure. But I'm gonna pass on it because when it comes to guitars and musical equipment I'd rather pay cash for it. I have been thinking about a Les Paul custom lately or a Custom USA made Jackson with scalloped fret board. Both guitars run about $5k each. But high end guitars are like Rolex watches. They tend to hold their value very well. This time I'm gonna pass

I'm an Epiphone Casino guy personally!

I usually go the Craigslist route, used instruments if I'm in the market of getting one. Otherwise I wouldn't waste my time w/ a silly 10% off offer when there are plenty of good rewards credit cards out there, in which you can earn/redeem other than the store itself.

As for now, I'll leave the store employees to deal w/ the kids cranking it to 11 and still learning how to use an electric amplifier!
Currently: American Express Blue Sky, American Express Zync, Chase Freedom Visa, Capital One Newcomers--->converted to Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard NO AF

The places offering 10% off already cranked up their prices to 11.

I had one of those cards too. It's offered by HSBC, which is one of the lower tier lenders. I used mine a lot, paid it in full before any interest was due, had it for 6 months, and then duly requested a CLI. Auto denial. I closed the card. I didn't know then that HSBC was little better than Cap One (if any better).

By the way I might add when I closed it, just like Cap One, the CSR was THRILLED to close it and limit that potential liability to HSBC. I really don't know why some of these lenders bother - if they are that paranoid they are going to get burned, just DON'T be in the business. They wouldn't be much of a loss anyway.
