Does Capital One 360 Checking hard pull your credit?

Postby shoptalk01 » Wed Feb 13, 2013 9:57 pm

Today I was looking at the new Capital One 360 online checking account (formerly ING Direct) Before I proceed, I want to check something. Here is a quote from the sign up page:
As part of the account opening process, we'll obtain information about you from a consumer reporting agency. Based on that information, you may or may not be approved for 360 Checking.

Am I to take it they will hard pull my credit? Would this be more like running through the Chex system? Since I've handled a secured card from Capital One well for 7 months, would this be taken into consideration or is it something completely different.

I'm also curious how well it integrates with the credit card account or if it would be considered an external account. I think it has some cool features that my Cornfield County Cowtown Bank doesn't touch and my stupid debit card is useless so I'm back on the hunt.

I have a Cap One 360 checking and it was obtained prior to Cap One taking over from ING. A hard pull was placed on my EQ bureau.

That's what I was afraid of, wasting another hard pull and getting denied. I would like to think past performance with one of their credit cards would be taken into consideration, but we all know that 7 months isn't enough to get them to want to keep you as a customer. On the up side, I just got an email, they are increasing my credit limit by $300 with no additional deposit required. Not a huge deal, but my CL is now $1,100.
