Credit Karma apparent glitch

Postby MemberSince99 » Fri Feb 08, 2013 8:21 am

I checked my CK today for the first time in a while and was astonished to see every card I've cancelled over the last year in my list of accounts.

Kinda interesting from a historical perspective (there are 3 amexes 2 discovers and a bunch of others in there) but it got me thinking I wonder since CK uses TU if this is what's showing up on TU now, or if ti's a CK glitch only.

Strange stuff.

I don't really want to buy a credit report from TU to verify, and as I've learned even if it is wrong, you have only 50/50 odds of them fixing it at best anyway, but I guess so much for 99.99999999999999999% accuracy that these clown-monkeys claim on our reports.....

I see a recently closed account on CK in "my accounts > current cards" but I don't see it in "my credit > credit report card".

I'm seeing accounts that I closed almost a year ago. They were not there before, 3 days ago. Something a bit odd is going on in my case.

Hey MemberSince99, my name's Jennifer and I'm an employee at Credit Karma. We'd be happy to look into this issue further- mind sending an email to support@creditkarma.com with the details and that screenshot? That'd help out a lot. Thanks!

CK has always shown my cancelled cards on that list. I think as long as the card shows up on your Credit Report, even if its closed, CK shows it in your list of accounts.

Discover It: 5% rotating
SallieMae MC: 5% Groceries, Gas, Amazon
US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature: 5% electronic stores, restaurants

The ones that have $0 to them, those are your balances that you're carrying, so in this case $0 balance. All of my CC have that but 2 of them.
Chase Freedom - $12,500 (2/2013)
GM Card - $7,700 (7/2002)
CitiBank (Thank You Preferred) - $6,400 (6/2012)
CitiBank (Diamond Preferred) - $4,600 (6/2012)
Rogers & Hollands - $3,300 (3/2006)
Target REDcard - $3,000 (11/2014)
BestBuy - $1,600 (9/2003)
Discount Tires - $1,000 (2/2004)
Kohl's - $300 (4/2012)

I guess what I find strange is the fact it never did that before. But if you think about it, it shows that in the case of CK, you really do get exactly what you pay for....

And for those curious as to the effect of closing the US Bank card on my CK score, it dropped 3 points from 737 to 734.
