i read these things can hurt ya for near-future credit limit increases if you're using your card for this when you first have it:

  • cash advance
  • infomercial/tv shopping orders
  • liquor stores
  • internet porn

allegedly they're look down upon because they are considered more impulse buying, which means less responsible

I don't get how they know if an informercial purchase is really that? Don't those companies sell in catalogs and stuff too? I understand the cash advances on your credit cards part but I think whatever else you spend your money on should be your business.

I've heard Paypal can be looked upon as negative too if you're using it a lot or for big amounts. Reason is because you can use Paypal like a cash advance by sending money to another account, then withdrawing it. I just made a $500 purchase on Paypal for eBay and now I'm regretting it because I don't want them flagging my account.... eeeek already went through that whole ordeal.
