I don't think it's a matter of becoming the Unabomber. No reasonable person could conclude that (and I think it's just a point djrez4 was making rather than a literal statement here).
My point is, we are already paying to use credit cards. merchants have traditionally encouraged their use as it lead to higher sales. They built the cost into their pricing structure. Now they are trying to say they are just going to charge us extra because all along they were "losing money' on us, I call BS they had that built in all along, and this is just another excuse to raise prices and put the extra money straight into their pockets.
Anyone who wants to contribute to that, by all means be my guest. I don't. And no I'm not a communist who has a moral issue with them making a profit, not at all. I want them to make a profit and stay in business - I have an issue with being lied to and charged for something again like this.
There is a difference.
