Is getting credit scores from your bank bad for your credit?

Postby Credit Card guy » Thu Nov 29, 2012 11:10 am

I've read on this forum that too many inquiries will hurt my overall credit score but credit card companies keep offering monthly credit reports. Some for a small monthly fee, others at no charge. Your thoughts.

Those reports are based on soft credit inquiries. They do not hurt your score.

As a consumer, you're allowed to pull your own reports as much as you want without any effect on your score. These monthly reports fall into that same area. The credit card company is simply pulling a report on your behalf.
