Double standards

Postby MemberSince99 » Tue Nov 27, 2012 9:35 pm

I noticed someone posted this on the FICO forum:

ya no offense to indians either , but the indian females automatically say no regardless of what you say. The men are usually the same way. Your best bet is an old white lady lol.

I got banned for life from that forum for telling a story about talking with a Cap One rep (mocking Cap One for being useless which we all know) and mentioning that the rep spoke in an Indian accent. The mod said I was being racist. I denied being a racist and pointed out that it was simply what happened, and if they had a british accent I'd have mentioned that too if it put things into context. That was enough to get the hammer laid down on me.

Makes me glad we have this forum where we seem to be treated fairly. Recently when I got my FICOs a box popped up asking if I'd recommend a friend to use the site. I selected the "no" radio button and filled in the box with the reason why not - because you're (rear ends) but a different word was selected. Hey I'm already banned for life, nothing to lose by telling it like it is!

Anyway I do not miss the mod games on that forum and the double standards and favoritism and all the juvenile stuff there. You can learn there, but that one is best used as read-only anyway.

Must've miss that post. He/she could've worded the language better. The way it is worded is called generalization, and generalization does lead to racist comment if you are not too careful with it.
