cashback wrote:Alright, game on. You need to find a grocery store with a fuel savings program. If you count that money I think you could get to 7 or 8% on everything (which is what I'm shooting for). Also, check out Ebates.com if you haven't already. It's basically the same as ShopDiscover but with more stores. ShopDiscover makes up for having less stores with a better % back though.

If you decide to sign up for Ebates, PM me so I can get a referral!

I feel like I may have signed up for that a long time ago and never used it. Let me go ahead and look into it again.

I have made more cash back if I count gas discounts. I have Kroger here. I get double fuel points for gift card purchases and points for grocery purchases. I get 4x fuel points for gift cards through December 9th. I can buy $500 worth of gift cards and get $2 off per gallon of gas.

Don't forget some of the other cashback sites like TopCashBack. If you want to play the game, you have to maximize cashback % on every purchase!

I'm pretty sure this warrants a new thread, started on January 1 where the two of you post your monthly hauls.

I'm looking forward to seeing how much you guys get back each month. I'd like a new really great card to come out as well. I'd like a card that gives me 5X points on beer, fuel, groceries, restaurants/bars, travel, and sporting events. Is that too much to ask?

Barclaycard Arrival Plus WEMC 5K
Chase Sapphire Preferred 23.5K

LOL, beer and liquor stores would be a 5% category I'd use! I try and hit up the outlet store in my town for that stuff but can't get anymore than the 2% my Fidelity Amex offers, unless I do a large Visa/MC giftcard through my Blue Cash Preferred.

Well, not that I am offering, but it does seem to depend on income/spend. If I have a large collection of vintage airplanes for example, and pay my $2M insurance bill using Cash Plus, that would probably beat you!
