LinkedIn charged my credit card without authorization

Postby arpit » Tue Nov 06, 2012 8:14 am

Recently I received a promotional mail from LinkedIn for trying out 1 month free of Premium membership I accepted the offer and as was required I provided my credit-card details.

I have done a plenty of Online Transactions on my card but every other time I did an online transaction I needed to provide a password before money was deducted from my account.

This time I did not provide my password (It was not asked) but still LinkedIn was able to reduce Re 1 from my account. I do not doubt the credibility of LinkedIn but was shocked to see how money was deducted from my account even without giving my online transaction password.

Please let me know How was LinkedIn able to deduct money from my account?

Dispute it, I've disputed every charge a website has ever charged on my cards and the money was back within a couple days

Right in the T&C "LinkedIn Premium services are sold on a subscription basis and are automatically charged to your credit card at the beginning of each subscription period. Discount applies to the first month of a LinkedIn Premium account subscription. After this period, you will be charged the standard rate on your renewal date unless or until you cancel your LinkedIn Premium account."

Basically you subscribed to LinkedIn Premium and they gave you the first month free. I get the same email every month.
Chase Freedom $9k~~Chase Sapphire Preferred $6.5k~~Amex Blue Cash Preferred $12.4k~~Citi Double Cash $4.7k
