How often do credit cards report to credit bureaus?

Postby Hepsta » Wed Sep 19, 2012 9:03 am

I utilize Citi's IdentityMonitor which allows me to stay updated on any changes to my credit. While going through my credit report I noticed that Discover, CapitalOne, and Citi all have reported my last balances and credit limits as of May 2012. How often do they report and update credit cards?

I have paid down balances on them and Discover extended my CL another $3k to $10k. I'll have lower utilization and a higher line of credit which I'd obviously like reflected on my credit score. I acquired a Chase Freedom with a $6k limit and a RoomsToGo Card with $3k limit since May, 2012. They are not reflected on my credit report dated 9/19/12.

Just wondering what the lag time is for reporting from these credit companies from those with experience.

Is there a number I can call or a "refresh" button I can hit to submit their updated account profiles for me?

I appreciate it!

Check with Credit Karma and/or Credit Sesame. They are both free sites and have the latest info. Credit Karma, which takes its info from TU, can be updated daily.

with the BOA verison of that which I used to have, you could get it refreshed every 90 days and had to request it (either via a button on the site of if you went 180 days without refreshing, you had to call)
