Centurion and Palladium At Work

Postby kcarter609 » Tue Sep 18, 2012 5:28 pm

So, I work in the powersports industry. With our normal retail sales, we have tons of business owners who use business cards to pay for whatever they buy. There are 2 customers I see about once a month with Centurion Business cards, but only one time did I come across a Palladium. The family that came in and used it drove off in a brand new fully loaded Escalade ESV with temp tags still in place. (Probably $80k or so).

I don't get "wowed" by anyone, or what they have. It makes no difference to me, but I have to say it really is cool to hold the Palladium since it's so heavy. I'm sure the guy was puzzled when I didn't react to the card at all... just swiped like it was a normal CC.

Active Cards:
Chase Freedom 10+10 Visa Signature ($9k Limit - 8/2012)
Chase Sapphire Preferred ($10k Limit - 2/2013)
Chase Ink Plus ($7k Limit - 2/2013)
Discover IT ($9.5k Limit - 10/2012)
AMEX Zync (No Pre-set Limit - 1/2010)
AMEX Blue Cash Everyday ($20k Limit - 1/2013 - Backdate to 1/2010)

He probably wasnt puzzled..not reacting could also mean that you dont know what youre holding in your hand. Same as people seeing a mclaren F1 parked in front of neiman marcus and dont bat an eye at it.

you should have turned the tables on him and said something like "wow.... this is the 4th Palladium card I swiped in two days. They must be handing these out more frequently now for exposure. I should send my application in now!"

I don't like people knowing or queering more about me than they need to so if asked about my card I frequently can be heard saying "oh... I don't know, my employer provided me this card to purchase his things" ;)

That's a good idea. I should do that if I run across one again.

That's a good point. I didn't think of that. I'm sure most people at least say something about the weight and/or that it's metal though. Anyone can realize this.

Oh no... for the watch I always say "I got it in Chen Zhen (sp?) in Hong Kong as it is the capital of knock offs." Proceed to say I challenge anyone to question the quality of this fake :) LOLOL since it's real, I always have a comedic chuckle when they point things out.

I love messing with people's minds LOL
