Small business credit cards without social security number - Hear me out!

Postby Jooxi » Tue Sep 11, 2012 8:27 pm

Hi everyone,

I am asking this on behalf of the owners of a small business. They have been in business for over 30 years.

The owners always used a personal card for the business, but they really, really feel it is time (and I agree!) to get a business card.

However, they would rather not have a personal guarantee, and thus another line on their credit report. They also want to keep these balances separate from their personal finances.

Are there any business cards that don't require a Social Security number? They'd be able to produce income statements, cash flow reports, etc. if needed. I know credit issuers don't like to do this, but it's not like they are a new venture.

I appreciate the help!

DavidNY - Thanks for the prompt reply.

However, the link you gave me says nothing about an SS#. It does mention a Taxpayer ID, which they would be willing to give.

Honestly, they'd be willing to give a SS# if needed just to confirm who they are, or even confirm their creditworthiness, as long as the credit card doesn't go on their personal credit report.

And again, they would be willing to call up if needed, and provide audited tax returns, income statements, etc.

Is there really nothing out there?

It is my understanding that a business credit card is not shown on an individual's credit report.
