Credit Scores

Postby teddy19 » Tue Mar 17, 2009 6:18 am

I've been reading more and more information about how Experian is really ripping people off with their credit score purchase program.

First thing you need to know that the Experian credit score you purchase from them isn't even your actual credit score. They are also the company behind freecreditreport.com. What a scam.

If you want to purchase your credit score you need to go to myfico.com/12
It does cost money, but at least you will receive your actual credit score. Except for Experian they stopped providing as of Feb 15 2009

Beware of companies offering your credit report or credit score and charging you money. You never know what you are getting.

the free credit report dot com you hear advertised on the radio is a auto-renew billing scheme just so everyone knows.

Sure, if you don't mind paying for your credit reports every month.

It doesn't look that bad since you can cancel anytime. A lot of the other offers your usually enrolled in some type of subscription with a mandatory enrollment period. This is why many have been sued or changed the offer. Still your best offer is to go to myfico.com to buy your credit scores. One time payment and your subscribing to some type of service you have to remember to cancel.

Funny your offer in from TransUnion one of credit bureaus. I believe Experian runs their own program. I still would avoid both since there is a better alternative at myfico.com
