If you don't mind me asking, did they increase your CL when you got the new card or did it stay the same? Wish they would have sent me the upgrade so I wouldn't have to take all these hard pulls and new accounts, but it is what it is.

They didn't increase my CL at all, which I found very bizarre considering that they gave me a $1500 limit to begin with. Didn't even think a Visa signature could even be issued with a limit under $5000. Though I won't complain, I guess! I will try for an increase at some point.
AMEX: Blue Cash Preferred (6% on groceries, 3% gas & dept stores)
Capital One: Venture (2 points per $1, equivalent to 2%)
Chase: Freedom (rotating 5% categories), Disney Rewards (1 point per $1, Disney benefits)
US Bank: Cash+ (5% bookstores / 5% Electronic Stores)

It's very strange people are getting cash reward cards with limits over 5k some people are getting cash + with limits below 5k most banks require a limit minimum of 5kl for a signature card I wonder what the criteria is for someone to get the cash+ it's very obvious it's not the limit that matters.

Glad I found this thread, and this forum.

Riddle me this; I got a 10K line of credit with the card and still only got cash rewards. 7 year USBank customer. I'm not too peeved because I have a lesser rewards card from a different company but this seems ridiculous. At least I can get something back on my bills now.

Well I got the second cash rewards card from US Bank, and after manual review they decided not to consolidate my lines into the Cash+. I was a little bummed about it but it's no big deal, I plan to just push a few utility bills each month through my US Bank cards to show usage, and keep my fingers crossed for a random invitation for a Cash+ upgrade. If I don't get it (and I'm not really counting on it), not gonna sweat it. I'm grateful for the cards I've got, many of them are the juggernauts I never thought I'd get approved for, and so many of them were opened this year and need time to age. In the end, my Experian score got dragged through the dirt and is now ~60 points lower than TU and EQ after all the US Bank inquiries-- but at least i have a combined 13k of credit through them, and the 8k card is my highest limit card now, so it should assist me down the road getting increases and higher initial lines for new cards. That being said, my 2012 app spree which ranged from March to August is officially over! Good luck to everyone else with the Cash+!

So they gave you two Cash Reward Visa? That's awful way of doing business.

Trumpet,

Yeah they sent me two Cash Rewards card. Here is a pic of the two cards side by side. The one on the left was opened in July, my first shot at the Cash+. It had a 3k limit, and was increased after one utility charge to 5k. The APR is 14.99%. The card on the right was opened in August, my second attempt at the Cash+. That one has an 8k limit and 22.99% APR(!). I think EX must be more sensitive to inquiries than the other bureaus or something, because I have had 5 EX inqs since the beginning of July, mainly from US Bank, and it dropped my EX score about 60 points (also partly due to new accounts). My TU and EQ are still in the 730s-- all FICOs from lenders. But TU has gotten pummeled with inquiries and the same new accounts before, and never dipped so dramatically.

Anyways (and sorry for the pic size and quality, if you click it shouldn't be so microscopic), look at the two cards really good. The terms and conditions (other than CL and APR) are exactly the same but the design of the cards is different. The earlier one says "Flex Perks cash rewards" while the new one just says "Cash Rewards." The card on the left also has more designs in the background and although the pic makes it hard to tell, is a deeper more purplish blue color than the one on the right. Also the Visa logos are slightly different. Lastly, on the back of the cards, the card on the left has the logo for Plus, which I think is a debit processing network-- the card on the right has no debit logos. I don't know if they are redesigning the card or something, cause neither one of these is pictured on the US Bank website, only the Cash+ and the other FlexPerks cards are.

Well like I said in a different post, I'm only going to garden for what's left of 2012 so my score can begin to recover. There are only a few cards I want in 2013, but I have done very well this year, resulting in 12 new account approvals, and tons of credit and more importantly rewards. I STILL want the Cash+ card, maybe if i am lucky they will invite me to upgrade on one card at some point, if not I'll try reapplying this time next year. Not gonna sweat it for now though, I have plenty going on with rewards with my current creditors to keep me busy.

That has to have been completely exasperating, hematino. I would have unloaded on someone on the phone at least once during all that. BTW, I still don't have my IT card, and it's coming up on almost a month since I requested it and was told it would be with me by about Aug. 15. The other day Discover sent me two identical letters saying the card was on its way. However, as of today it's past due based on what the last rep I spoke with told me. Oh well; it's only a Discover card. The last rep asked me what I wanted the IT card for. I should have told her I wanted it to shovel cocaine because the rewards really aren't that good. Oh well.
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).

*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.

Yeah it was frustrating to say the least, but I'll just try and make the best of it. The 8k card, sucky as the rewards and interest rate are, is my highest limit card (next are a pair of 6k cards and a bunch of 5k cards). So it should help encourage higher credit lines in the future at least. Gotta say though, everyone I've spoken with from US Bank has been pleasant and at least tried their best to help me. I think its their system which is horrendous judging from my own experiences as well as a lot of other people's.

Man I know you applied for that It card a loooong time ago. Its taking longer for you to receive than it took me to get my JCB card (and they operate only on snail mail!) At least with More or It, whichever you have by the time October rolls around, you can enjoy the 5% online shopping, thats a pretty nice bonus category. Lol tell them you heard their card makes neater lines of coke than your Sapphire. Its a shame that a company like Discover, which has a pretty great record for customer service in an industry thats hard as hell to please people, failed so bad to handle a simple request for you. Wonder if there's an opportunity to haggle for some bonus cashback points for your troubles and aggravation? I'd send them copies of their correspondence along with a frustrated letter.

Well I'm still newer to the card, but I do like it. I just have the plain JCB card, not the 3% one which isn't offered in my state. Cash back only comes at 1% though so it isn't a powerhouse like the Blue Cash cards or Freedom. Also its 1 point ($1) per hundred you spend, but there's no minimum to apply the points against your balance. JCB customer service is really helpful and I have called several times (mainly during the application process), and never have to hold because "all representatives are assisting other customers." The application process was old-fashioned because you can only do it through a paper application through the mail, they pulled EX and then TU a week later. Also had to submit paystubs as proof of income and employment. They assigned me a decent credit line and APR rate (The absolute max you can get for their variable APR is 16% in most states JCB serves, and a few cap it lower).

On top of that, I kind of like having a card that runs on a fifth credit processing network, and it's definitely a conversation piece. I've always wanted to get a Diner's Club card for variety (I know, I'm weird), and since they no longer accept US applicants, JCB was my compromise. Very few people I've paid with the card have ever heard of or seen one despite the JCB logo on their card terminals. Supposedly they have an agreement with Discover that any POS that accepts Discover branded cards will also accept JCB, but I have yet to prove this as the places I've used it have both logos and not just the Discover one. Even though its a revolver, I kind of like having it on my credit reports to add diversity among all the big banks I have credit through.

Are you interested in applying for one? Or mostly just curious?
