Chase credit score requirements?

Postby kayc » Fri Aug 10, 2012 4:31 pm

I recently was forced to file bankruptcy. Soon after, my car died. I was approved for a car loan thru Chase bank at a surprisingly good (for just filing) interest rate. I am looking for the next step to rebuilding my credit.

From what I have read here, it is near impossible to get a Chase credit card without great credit. My score is only at about 625 right now. Should I attempt to apply for a Chase card (will I meet the requirements) or should I hold out a while longer? I have only made 3 timely payments on my car loan so far.

Wait a little while. Chase will approve mid-high 600s with a good income, but not 625. Try a secured card from Orchard or Cap One to build a new history and bring your score up.

I agree. You need to avoid chase for now. I would do 2 horrible sub prime cards for 6 months to year to get score up.
