Got a letter in the mail last night from US Bank welcoming me to the Cash + card. Included were some "convenience" checks (damn I hate those things) and the letter stated "Be sure to take advantage of the checks to make the most of your new account". Then in the print under the checks was the statement "We will begin charging interest on the checks beginning on the date of the transaction". I knew that before I read it, but I did want to see.
Basically it's just a way to charge you some interest. How exactly is that "making the most" of my account, it's more like "kick us back some interest".
For the record I have no problem with them trying to make money, they have to and they should. I have a problem with BSing about what something REALLY is. So just be sure to read the fine print so you don't get stuck with a "gotcha" because as they will tell you, we told you you'd be charged for that, but you didn't read it.
