Just asked for several CLI's & Now Want To Apply For New Card?

Postby KingVicc » Mon Jul 16, 2012 9:07 pm

Hi,

I just asked for CLI's for three of my credit cards, and they all were approved. Does this add any hard inquiries to my credit score? Is it a bad idea if I try to get a new credit card this month, or maybe even two?

I'm planning to upgrade my Amex Blue Card to the Amex BCE, and appling for the Chase Freedom.

Would you guys recommend I upgrade my Blue to the Blue Cash Everyday & then apply for the Chase Freedom?

My TransUnion score is 721. I recently (a week ago) increased 3 credit lines and they were approved. I'm not sure if any were a hard inquiry but assuming one were, would applying for the freedom use that same pull or a whole new one? Thanks!

You should be able to upgrade to the BCE without a hard pull (guessing don't know for sure). You could ask Amex if it would be a hard pull to be certain. It just has to be 13 months that you've had the Blue.

And again a guess but I would imagine Chase is going to make your Freedom app a hard pull. Remember it's a hard pull 99.99999% of the time for a CLI, so I can't imagine them not doing a hard pull for a card app. But as always YMMV.
