I was recently denied for the Chase Freedom card on May 9th. The denial letter stated it was due to an old charge off from three years ago. I have recently paid that off in full since learning about it.
The letter also stated they would reconsider me if these negatives were changed. Now I am just waiting on the collection agency to report to the credit bureaus. They claim it takes them 30 days to report once the check clears. Is this standard?
Any how I have banked with Chase for two years now and have a checking account that holds an average balance between 1,000-2,500 a month as well as a savings account with over 10k and have never over drawn or been a problem customer.
I am considering calling them and telling them to reconsider based on these facts. I would think that being a current customer in good standing would help my cause. How do you think I should approach them when I call them to reconsider my application?
