How fast will credit inquiries show up on report?

Postby Ratfacedudeguy » Fri Jul 06, 2012 10:15 pm

This is for the consideration of those such as myself who like to go on a sporadic app spree and try to cheat the system.

I found out today when reviewing my credit report that my credit union used in my most recent applications that inquiries will indeed post to your credit report with virtually no lag time. I applied for a card with Chase not 30 minutes before applying with my CU, and sure enough that inquiry from Chase was right there on my report! I had always thought that there would be at least a day's time for the inquiry to report, but evidently that's not at all the case. Knowledge is power.

Inquiries will show up immediately! That doesn't mean that you have new debt but it's a concern for your creditors. Keeping your credit report inquiry free is a good thing.
