New Sapphire card design

Postby jeffysdad » Fri Jun 01, 2012 10:32 am

Chase just sent my new Sapphire card to replace the expired one. Matte finish instead of shiny, non-embossed. Account no., visa logo on back and not on front. Looks much classier. Maybe I'll use it now.
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).

*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.

The regular. I would expect the preferred to have the same/similar changes.

No, but here's a link to an Adweek story that has a pic. Note that the upper left and lower right corners of the actual card are not trimmed as they appear to be in this photo. The only thing on the front of the card that's not in the picture is my name at the bottom left.

I've read somewhere that the CS and CSP have minimum income requirement of 120k. Do you know if they reject people for not having that much income?

Nope, that's just a rumor. My actual income aside, the income I put in for the application is nowhere near 120,000.

I am a grad student with 25k income. Do you think they may decline me just for having low income?

I would apply for your student loans (if you need it) before applying for the credit card. I think it helps to have other affiliations with Chase. For example I have their Freedom card and a checking account with direct deposit set up. Since you're a grad student, you can get their college checking account/debit card, which is completely free.
