Mainly interested in Chase Sapphire Preferred and Amex Gold. Does adding an authorized user double your annual fee?

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred

I passed on the Gold since it does not offer concierge service. Instead I applied for the CSP, which gives a free AU.

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred

I can speak for the American Express's I have. The Premier Rewards Gold card gives up to 5 additional cards for free. The Blue Cash Preferred & Starwood Preferred Guest cards both offer free authorized user cards no matter how many you would like to have.

According to this page: http://www304.americanexpress.com/getthecard/learn-about/Gold-Delta-Skymiles

Authorized Users can be added at no additional cost.
American Express '02: Platinum, Blue Cash Preferred 6k, SPG 2k, Delta Gold 1k
Barclaycard '11: Apple Financing Card 2.5k
Citi: Diamond Rewards 1.5k
Chase: Freedom 500
Discover '12: Discover IT 1.5k
