I would like to be able to carry one primary card and one backup from the same bank, ideally the bank where I have my checking account (so I could manage everything on one website). In my case, that would mean Freedom for primary and Amazon for backup. However, I can't make myself pass up the 2% on everything from Fidelity Amex when the previous two cards don't meet that. I also can't leave the Discover 5% alone when it's in categories I use.
So my dream wallet would be a Freedom card that always paid at least 2% (in addition the 5% categories and bonus points for being a Chase customer), and the Amazon card from Chase.
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).
*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.
