What a difference a year made for me..

Postby andy1088 » Sun May 06, 2012 2:24 pm

This time last year (2011) I only had two cards and a $800 credit limit. Now I have 4 cards (one closed) and a $5,500 credit limit. I also have two cards with 0% interest and 3/4 cards have some type of rewards. I guess I really moved up in the world. :oooo
My cards
Chase-Sapphire-$5,000 Freedom-$3,000, Amazon rewards-$700, Slate-$600
Citi- Diamond Preferred-$4,000, Thank you-$2,500
Discover IT-$2,500
Bank of America cash rewards-$2,000
Capital one newcomer rewards-$500

Nice! Congrats.

I remember last July I started out w/ my Capital One Newcomers card w/ a $500 limit...now I have a Chase Freedom and two Amex cards in addition.

Crazy what six months to a year can do for your credit if you use your cards wisely!
Currently: American Express Blue Sky, American Express Zync, Chase Freedom Visa, Capital One Newcomers--->converted to Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard NO AF

I feel the same way! I started with a Wells Fargo secured CC that I closed a few months ago because they "no longer offer the graduation program"... in only a year I've been able to get 2 Cap One, Chase Freedom, Amex Zync and Discover, plus a few store cards and a car loan with a 5.76% interest rate, not a bad start ;)
Amex: Business Platinum (09/12) BCP $10,500 (03/13)
Visa: Capital One Journey $750 (04/11) Chase Freedom $1,800 (04/12)
MasterCard Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select $8,500 (05/13)
Discover: Discover It $2500 (07/11)
Store Cards: Amazon $3900 (12/11) Macy's $500 (04/11) Kohl's $500 (05/12) Victoria's Secret $750 (11/12)

That's awesome PopiLopi! I have almost cut all ties with Capital One, but good to see someone is happy with them. I love my Discore More and Chase Freedom cards and Citi gave me a $1,000 increase today to 2K which is awesome!

I haven't use CapOne in the past 3 months... The only reason I got the Newcomers card is because I bought $2k worth of airfare between Jan-Feb and I liked the 4% cashback on airfare when booked thru priceline.com, you can rack up big money on that card if you use it to buy aifare, sucks they only gave me $500 in credit limit so I had to buy one flight at a time, pay it off and buy the next one...

I'm keeping the Journey Cap1 Visa because is my oldest open account, so It helps my average age
