SunTrust Delta SkyMiles check card jacks fee to $95!

Postby Tl1991 » Sat Apr 28, 2012 7:58 pm

So I've had the SunTrust Delta SkyMiles debit card for a while. They discontinued it for newcomers but customers who have already had it were allowed to keep it so I was happy I could keep it!! However they just bumped the annual fee to $75!!! It's almost worth getting the Gold Delta Amex and pay the $95 annual which I'd rather have anyway, what do you think??

If you do have it, what kind of credit score did you have when you applied? Also I hear this may be the easiest Amex card to be app. for. I'm curious, may be applying in the near future.

I don't have the card but I know this is more of a business card. Not a small business card. But a card that is more used by business travelers.

Actually, that isn't true. Depends on the case but this is typically the easiest card to get. Several of my friends in my fraternity got it just by being students, having part time jobs etc..half of them didn't have a credit history. It may be used as business card but go to the airport and youll see tons of people 18-25 carrying it. I've read beacuse its a partner card ie not a charge card or just blue cash card, that this is what helps make it one of their easiest cards to get even with no credit. Not saying my word is fact, but I've read and seen contrary to what moneycard says.
Cards in my wallet:

-American Express Platinum Delta Skymiles--July 2013

There are a few reasons why you'd better off keeping the suntrust card than switching totally to an Amex.

First off, you're right BMW it's easy to get. It's a debit card. One of the best thing about this card is it operates on MasterCard and is a world MasterCard. I have a gold pr that gets me miles, and if a merchant doesn't take AmEx I get miles off my debit card. I love it!!

There is no way on God's green earth that I am paying an annual fee for a debit card. I got rid of mine and use strictly credit cards. I'm 1000% happier.
