Is Citibank a good credit card or not?

Postby Philosophuer » Thu Apr 26, 2012 10:23 pm

Does anyone use Citibank cards? How are they? I just opened a checking account there to take advantage of their $400 bonus offer, and they really wanted me to get a credit card. I use my AMEX Gold Premier for everything, so I declined them.

I love my forward card. I get 5x points at all restaurants including fast food. As well as 5x bookstores. All amazon purchases are considered bookstore purchases. So that rocks. The point conversion isn't 1:1. But if you use them for a statement credit 5x points work out to 3.5%
Credit Cards
American Express: Fidelity Rewards (2% cash back) 9.5k
Zync NPSL
Discover: Discover More (5% rotating categories) 12k
Mastercard: Chase Freedom (5% rotating categories) 4.6k
Visa: Citi Forward (5x pts on restaurants) 15.7k
Citi Dividend (5% rotating categories) 5.6
Capital One Journey (1.25% cash back) 1.25k
BofA AAA (5% on gas) 2.5k
PenFed Platinum Rewards (5% on gas 3% groceries) 7.5k

Future Cards
US Bank Cash +
Chase Ink

I do have Citi cards, and have had no issues of substance with them.

I don't have any citibank cards but this is what I know the dividend select is the cash back card like the Freedom and more card.
this card has rotating categorys 1% back on everything except whats in the 5% back quarter.

the Thank you card is the travel card like the escape, sapphire and venture card.

the lower level card gives you 1 point per dollar , concierge service

the higher level card gives you 2 points per dollar spent on gas not sure about grocerys.

you also get concierge service every year you get 2 free airline tickets US only first year is free then a 125 annual fee.
