Agp, when you applied for PenFed, did they ask you send a bunch of financial forms? I joined an organization they asked me to join to become eligible for membership and I opened a share account, but then they wanted a bunch of paperwork for the Visa no other bank has asked me for so I didn't apply for it.

Yep, 4 cards in less than a month after my FKFCU application. Never had any late payments or negatives on my credit report either. I guess why they denied me will be a mystery forever.

Nope, only my TWO most recent paystubs. I scanned and emailed them ONE of my paystub from last August when I was working as a DoD contractor. And I was approved for a card I did not apply, the Platinum (Point) Reward, so I had to call and tell them change it to the Platinum Cash Reward and they did.

I was asked to open a savings or checking account and make a minimum deposit of $5 as well.

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred

Sounded to me that they denied your application due to them being unable to verify your identity. Some consumers who have a extreme high credit score of 800+ will have trouble getting approved on some credit cards. Most the time this is a hit or miss. The bank requested you to email information which was a big no no. They should of had you mail it to them instead. Faxing it over would of been ok but could get intercepted. Overall you should of talked to their accounts specialist instead of the CSR to get reconsidered. A score that high should never get a credit card application denied.

Glad you got your next cards approved.

New member here, hi. I just got the FKFCU card, I had to pay $15 and they made me fax in my dl, ss, and 3 pay stubs. I also had to call them since I never got a follow up after I applied on their archaic website. Question for those of you that have the card...

I got approved for the $2500. If I max out spending on this card, will I get the 1.25% + 5% of gas purchases of the $2500 back to my account? Is there a limit to the amount of cashback I can get? Of course, I can not find anything on their website.

For gas it's only 5%, not 5% on top of the 1.25%. And no there's no limit.
