Question about US Airways

Postby sleepingduringtakeoff » Sun Feb 12, 2012 5:17 pm

Hello I have been searching around the forum for a while, but have not been able to find what I was looking for, so I thought a direct question would be best.

I want to thank you advance for any advice you have.

I have booked a flight for my family of 5 on US Airways, and now am looking for a card that

1. allows me to check my bag (and my families) for free.
2. Maybe allows me access to the Lounge (not really necessary)
3. Has a nice signup bonus,
4. I would also appreciate anybody's ideas on how to move away from the card as soon as I am done away with it (cancel or downgrade)

I have great credit, I haven't ever tried getting a lot of cards to build points/miles( although after reading I am thinking about it a lot). I don't carry much in the way of balance.

I can't recommend a card that would give you a free checked bag, but I can recommend that you stay away from the US Airways MasterCard that they promote on their website and also while on board. They are run through BarclaysUS which is a subsidiary of Barclays Bank and a Delaware corporation. The customer service is based in the Philippines and can take hours to get a straight answer, there are also reviews and stories from individuals in just the last few months all across the internet talking about how they never received their Bonus Miles.
