What was your first purchase with your credit/charge card(s)?

I recently got approved for the Amex Zync, and purchased a money clip to keep things clean and simple- my wallet tends to dirty up white cards after awhile, soI want to keep it clean for as long as I can.

One of my other first purchases with my Amex was hilarious- I went to a dollar store and bought two dollars worth of items. When told my grand total at the register, I asked:

"Do you take American Express?"

"Yes we do."

I swiped, and I went on my way.
What was your first purchase with your fresh cards?
Currently: American Express Blue Sky, American Express Zync, Chase Freedom Visa, Capital One Newcomers--->converted to Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard NO AF

The very first purchase with my very first credit card....

The credit card was from Wells Fargo (Visa or Mastercard I cannot remember). I was a Lance Corporal in the Marines that had just turned 21, stationed at Camp Pendleton Ca. I went to Oceanside (town outside of base) and maxed it out at a club called "Pure Platinum". I do not remember much of the night, but I did learn about credit cards real quick. :D

I have not thought about that night in a long time. I would never have made that many mistakes with a new credit card if I knew then what I know now. It is amazing what years of experience will do for your spending habits.

I believe my very first purchase was an over-priced Gateway computer in 2000. I was 18 and it was my first computer and led to my discovery of the internets and the ability to make personal websites. :o It was my first semester of college, and unfortunately I found the internet more interesting than class, and failed out of every single class and dropped out of college (and haven't been able to go since).

Aside from that, the computer so wasn't worth the money. It cost more than it was worth, the interest rate was ridiculous, and when it came time to upgrade the computer, I realized it wasn't possible because it was a micro-PC, and the parts had to be bought directly through Gateway at ridiculous prices.

I still have that somewhere in a box in the garage. Maybe I'll see if I can power it up, connect peripherals to it, and see what 18-yr old Roland was up to. It'll be like an electronic time capsule!
