A question just hit my mind and I figured why not ask the experts on this forum
. Now I understand that closing a credit card has adverse side effects on your credit score (more or less depending on the age of the account), but what happens when your credit card is discontinued? I'm still new to the CC game so I don't really know if such a thing happens as "discontinuing a credit card," I'm just assuming it does. But say your credit card issuer (Master Card, Visa, Chase, AMEX, BofA, Discover etc...) decides to discontinue a particular card for whatever reason, would THEIR decision to discontinue the card effect YOUR credit score? Looking forward to your responses!
