Cancelling credit card question

Postby thegameksk » Mon Mar 14, 2011 5:15 pm

Hi all. I recently applied for a Best Buy Visa card. I was denied and instead giving a Best Buy store card. I havent used the card and havent even activated it yet. The card has a high api and low balance (400). If I cancel it will it hurt my credit score? Thanks

The activation is typically to confirm receipt so the account can be used. It should still show up on the credit report, at least according to what others on here in similar situations have claimed.
