Is Orchard Bank a good credit card?

Postby drsmith » Sat Nov 27, 2010 10:52 am

My GF doesn't have the best credit but she was approved for an orchard bank Visa secured card. It seems to me like this is really the only route for her to go, but I have a few questions.

Are Orchard Bank credit cards a decent company to get a card from? If anyone has any experience with them, is it fairly easy for her to work her way to getting her card unsecured, and if it becomes unsecured, does she get her deposit back?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Is Orchard Bank a good credit card or not? If you have good to excellent credit then there will be better credit cards which you will likely qualify for.

For those trying to build or rebuild their credit, then the Orchard Bank credit cards are an excellent choice. Fees are charged for some of their cards which is normal for secured, but their fees are lower than many of their competitors for this tier of credit cards. This is the primary reason Credit Card Forum chooses to have an advertising relationship with Orchard Bank.

Another benefit of the Orchard Bank card is the approval process which consists of:

  1. Fill out the online pre-qualification form.
  2. Find out what you are pre-qualified for. Orchard Bank issues both secured and unsecured credit cards. Their process tells you which you cards pre-qualify for.
  3. Select the best Orchard Bank card you are pre-qualified for. If you qualify for unsecured then that would be the best choice for most people.
  4. Review the full terms, conditions, and fees if applicable. From there you can decide whether you want to complete the application or not.
