With the exception of some niche circumstances like Costco, you usually don't hear about cards well before they are released. Usually only a week or two if that.

In any event, I haven't heard of anything new lately, though BOA did email me a survey and it mentioned they were thinking about releasing a new credit card. Details were non existent though and it did not say when it would be or what the features would be.

I read this blog post a week or so ago. It is not about new cards per se, but it is one travel site's take on what American Express and Citi should do, from a competitive response standpoint, in response to the Sapphire Reserve launch.

Smart money would be on some version of a 1.5% card.
Amex - BCP, Platinum, Business Gold
BoA - BankAmericard Cash Rewards
Chase - Freedom, CSP, RC, Ink Plus
Citi - DC, Prestige
Discover - It

You'd think, but they already have the 1.5% travel rewards card, so releasing a 1.5% cash back card would kind of make the Travel Rewards card look silly.

Maybe something along the lines of BCP...lots of cash back in certain categories with a moderate AF? I've heard no whispers of any major overhaul like a transferable points program, or their offering a new cobrand travel card.

Or maybe they're going to slap a moderate AF on something that offers Priority Pass, if they feel they look behind the times on travel perks?
