Through a Citi IT glitch, I thought my AA Platinum and Prestige cards had been shut down. I logged into Price Rewind to add a few (smooth, ordinary, and successful) morning purchases. I got the message that the feature was only for Citi customers with a credit card account.

The regular Citi login gave me my checking info, but said my credit card information was temporarily unavailable (and I didn't have much faith in "temporarily"). I got full access back when I tried again an hour later with no further action on my part.

So not actually a credit concern, but it still had the effect of making me want to not leave the garden.

This happened to me yesterday when I updated the app on my phone. Unfortunately, things like this have happened a few times with Citi when upgrading apps or just system changes in general take place. It was corrected pretty quickly which I was surprised about. Based off of the appearance of things, I thought it was going to be a huge pain to get the cards added back onto my online profile. I'm thankful it wasn't.

The SPG Amex bonus has (not surprisingly) been nerfed. $3k spend gets 2 nights at category 1-5 (of 7) hotels.

The points allowed more flexibility (one night at a higher category, many nights at a lower category, upgrades, partner transfers).

It wasn't exactly at the top of my list, so it doesn't bother me much. Maybe there will be some decent targeted offers.

You can tell when Amex Offers are targeting Christmas shopping towards the end of the year. For the first time I've noticed, it looks like they're trying to do the same with Halloween. I have two separate Offers for costume websites.

Got a BCE-to-BCP upgrade offer: $100 for $1k spend in 3 months.

Maybe I should consider it...I'd have no trouble meeting minimum spend with off-category purchases, so the sub-optimal 1% cash isn't that much less than alternatives. The $100 puts me $5 ahead of one year's AF, and I can always downgrade later back to BCE. So, basically, I'd earn a little more on grocery purchases for a year (6% on all vs. 5% on most groceries with Sallie).

The risk, really, is that when I PC back to BCE I get an idiot CSR who closes the account. Maybe $5 and an extra 1% on groceries for a year isn't worth the risk. The offer is good for about 2 months, so I can think about it.

I think it's unlikely, but it's always possible they won't let you downgrade to the BCE (maybe more so since they will have just paid you to upgrade) - but I would be surprised if they didn't allow it.

Well I now know the limit on the US bank Cash + $3,300 and it was issued as a Visa Signature. The $125 bonus will be nice for just running $500 though it plus getting %5 back at Newegg and the like.

As a replacement for Prestige, I had been considering the Citi AA Executive...but their "AA family" bonus restrictions mean I wouldn't be eligible until 2018...AFAIK, there's no business AA Executive card, so I can't benefit from that exception...and it's not a card I'd get without some sort of bonus.

Hopefully the rumored (with no official basis) changes/improvements at Amex will include Delta lounge guest access on Platinum, or at least a limited number of guest passes.

At nearly 5 months, this is actually the longest I've been in the garden.
