Were you mostly interested in the Admirals access? The AA revenue redemptions?

If the first, you can still enjoy it for a year.

Mostly the lounge access, but also the golf. Even with the nerfing it's still a good card but if I apply next year I wouldn't have the lounge access for longer than 4-6 months would I.

If you wait until 1/1/2017, then you'd have Admirals access for 6.75 months...and only one $250 credit.

So if you're set on not apping until 2017, then passing on it might be reasonable. My point was more that most of the nerfing won't kick in for 11.75 months, so a bonus hunter who went for it today could still get a good year from the card.

I don't know exactly what Citi's guidelines are for denials when then see very recent inquiries.

I do need to take a closer look at the alliance partners and award charts of TY transfer partners. I think the nerf of the 1.6 cpp AA option took effect immediately (someone, please let me know if I'm wrong). I have no good plan for my TYs atm.

SFO T1 Delta Sky Club is pretty nice. With the complaints I hear about domestic airline-operated lounges, I guess I've been hitting the nicer ones.

Definitely a harsh "guest" (no free guest) policy, though.

I applied for a new account in July. Actually three, but two of them are not credit cards. I wanted to wait until everything was 100% approved and confirmed before posting anything.

I applied for the JP Morgan Ritz Carlton Card for a variety of reasons. I've had this planned for about 8 or 9 months in a rough sort of way. I was very happy with the approval and the SL (the reason for the long term planning was a strategically timed application in an attempt to maximize my starting limit - I have not employed this strategy before and it seems to have worked very well - or it could just be how things shook out). I would consider this a massive approval. I was also given the lowest APR for the product which I actually don't care about in practice, but do appreciate in a certain way.

I also decided a couple of months ago (while waiting to apply) that I wanted to apply for some lines of credit from banks I already have banking relationships with. I had similarly good results to the JPM Ritz application. The application process for the lines of credit was considerably different than a credit card application. I found the process interesting and I think I learned a little bit at the same time. One took about a week to be fully approved and processed and the other took two to three weeks and I'm still waiting for paperwork, but it is on my online banking.

So...out of the garden and right back in for me.

I really don't have any upcoming short term or long term planned applications.

I can't think of any credit cards or credit products ( short of a mortgage within 1-3 years) that would appeal to me or require a new application. I am very interested to see what comes of the whispers of a Chase product to compete with the Platinum card and Citi Prestige - unfortunately, I just applied for the card they have that currently is closest to occupying that position. Maybe a PC. Maybe an app. Maybe neither. Mostly curious to see what they have to offer especially since over the last several years the Prestige and Platinum have slowly but surely taken away benefits and perks.

Time will tell.

Very happy with my application results.

I see Amex is offering a 50% bonus through the rest of the year when transferring MR to Plenti points.

...still nowhere near worth it, at least for me personally.

Still no Y02 AF on my RC. I'll keep it for as long as this keeps.

Yea. Now that I have it. I'm much more interested in understanding how you're managing to accomplish that. PM me please if that's necessary.

Trick is dead from what understand.

You used to be able to reduce your CL down to where the AF would eclipse the "25% maximum of CL" per CARD act. Chase would refund the AF paid Y01. Some are reporting that Y02 AF has been nil and so forth. Of course, This may be just luck of the draw.

Looks like R-C Visa may soon be overhauled, anyway...if rumors are true, it will have a $450 AF (and a few more perks) but require a minimum SL of $15k. Chase may not let people move away 90%+ of the CL...

Why I don't go seeking CLIs I don't need...

*Also...how long do you think it will be until we see a Pokemon cobranded US credit card? I've not tried the game...yet, at least...but people really seem obsessed. Pokemon credit and prepaid cards already exist in Japan. Imagine a rewards program where 10,000 points buys a Pikachu.
