Yeah...and I'm not sure what will happen if someone uses Discover Deals near the end of their double rewards year. The second half of the cash would probably come before the bonus from the Deal was paid.

I'm still gardening. Didn't buy an RV yet either.

I got a prequal offer for Cash+ at 18.24%. I would have considered it 18-24 months ago, but not anymore. It's been nerfed too much, and I wouldn't put very much spending on it. That being the case, it makes more sense to focus on a nice bonus.

I'm happy letting accounts age and inquiries die. Still intend to garden for the rest of (or at least most of) 2016.

Used up some of my Delta SkyMiles from the Fidelity promo. SFO to JFK, convenient and direct, for 12.5k+$5.60 per person on a day when cash prices start at $220 for even inconvenient indirect flights (and my flight would cost $280).

Premium perks do make award math more complicated. It used to be the case that I never had lounge access or free bags, and was happy to fly at weird times. Heck, I'd have been with Sully in the Hudson River if I hadn't taken a cheaper red eye the night before. :ppp Now I have to adjust paid and award prices for free vs. paid bags, lounge and guest access, etc.

I'm still gardening. For a whole month now. Until I'm not. I make no promises either way. I sure don't "need" another card, but if the right deal was tempting, well who knows....

As bad as I am, I see some of them on MF put all of us to shame. I mean 20 inquiries and 10 new cards in the last 4 months and things like this. Wow.

And then I saw the post "Bad Credit App Spree" and I thought wow that just gives a bad feeling. This guy had pretty bad credit and applied for like 10 Commenity cards and got 3 or 4 of them, all with limits that make Cap One starter cards look generous. Dude, first of all you can't REALLY hurt your credit it already sucks so bad, so in a way it doesn't matter, but are you REALLY going to actually use those cards? Get one or at most two you will REALLY USE, treat them well, then in a year or two you will have the good cards mailing you asking for your business.

Gardening for two weeks seems to suffice for them, then you can add 4 more accounts. It is really ridiculous. Sorry, but taking a two week break is meaningless, and adding 10 new cards in the last 4 months is overkill for most profiles. But they just act like it's normal.

Due to some work needs for a new job, I fell out of the garden for a Walmart card. Got a higher limit than the last time, but still pretty low ($900 compared to $400). Maybe this time I can parlay it into a MasterCard but who knows. So I won't be going anywhere near anything credit-app related for the foreseeable future. My next cards after this will likely be my last. So I'm being extremely picky. To which I've also opted-out permanently, so anything I get credit-wise I'll be seeking instead of it being a cold offer through the mail or email.
Current Cards: Chase Freedom, Discover IT
Future: TBD

There are whispers about a UR card that would compete with Platinum and Prestige...with less brand commitment than Ritz. It might make Palladium customers feel less special, though...

And it will be (supposedly) a Visa Infinite, so you will have people pestering the EO trying to get 5/24 overturned.

If they ever get around to charging me an AF for the RC again I will dump it for this and use my personal banker connection, I may even just go CPC for the hell of it.
