Count me among the people just enjoying Sallie Mae while it lasts. I've only had one customer service incident with Barclays, and it was pretty disappointing. The authorized user card for me apparently got lost in the mail. NBD, my wife called in to get another one sent, and was told she'd still be able to use her account. They (meaning the system, I assume) shut down her card, too. Had to call back to get it working again. Luckily they're strictly a 5% account for me and I have other payment options. That's not how you get people to use you for their main card.
*edited to add: our cards have completely different numbers, too, so I wouldn't think there would be any reason to shut down her card. Either way, if they had told us this it still wouldn't have bothered me (because I use other cards); it was the fact that we were told wrong information*
I'm with Member in that if I was forced to just use one lender it would be Discover. I'm happy enough with Amex, but I'm just not their target customer. Discover has a product that's great for me, and when I do need to interact with customer service it is actually a pleasant experience.
