It's his life and his prerogative, but wow it strikes me as weird.

When people suggested that this was a question he should have been asking before he applied for the card, he threw a tantrum.

But it is a question he should have answered for himself before applying...Even if he plans on closing it before the AF posts, he should still know.

It's really simple...does he fly Delta enough cover the annual fee with baggage reimbursement? Obviously no...likewise, he's obviously not going to spend enough money on the card for the Delta Miles to outweigh the hefty annual fee.

I agree strongly with your point. It's just really ridiculous. Even if the person didn't think of it before applying, the act of creating the post lends almost enough time to figure it out for himself (especially since no one else can figure it out but that person anyway...) OR at the very least, read what I wrote and think about it and not behave like a little shit.

I think the card that he was approved for has no introductory annual fee of $0. It's $195 from the onset. I could be wrong but if that's true, the AF may have already posted. The bonus would probably still make it worth it, though.

I agree that he is the only one that is in a position to answer his question. And that it should be a question he should know the answer to before he applies for the card. The bonus may still be worth applying for even if the annual fee isn't worth keeping it for longer than a year, which is why he may not have researched it, but it does seem like a careless thing to do. $195 is a significant annual fee and knowing the answer to the question he asked may have opened him up to better possibilities. So, in that respect, I do agree with you.

Not to mention, it is pretty well known that Amex does not appreciate users applying for a card and closing it after 11 months.

Also, $0 introductory fee or not, still needs to figure it out ahead of time.
