About a year ago I made a hotel reservation for a stay later this month and left a deposit using my Chase Visa card. The hotel was then sold to another hotel chain and now has a new name (they sent me an email about the change). Two weeks ago I canceled the reservation and, according to the original terms, am entitled to a refund (I got an email acknowledging the cancellation and still have emails listing the deposit). They said I should get the deposit back within a week.
Can I dispute the original charge or is it too late? Is it a problem that I paid one company and another said it would return the deposit?
