I'll pass, but I'm glad I'm still eligible for the future.

I too will pass; the Platinum definitely isn't for me, at least right now. Whenever I am ready, though, I will certainly be holding out for 100k.

Has the PRG had a similarly lofty offer in the past?

Damn, that is really tempting...but I think I am going to hold off. We won't be flying anywhere for at least a full year. I'm very tempted to apply now and bank the points, but if I'm going to get a Platinum card I want to at least try to use some of the perks with it. I know I'd be paying $450 and not using any of the benefits.

Even though I've been hoping to eventually get targeted for 100K, I don't think it makes sense for me to jump on this now...I'd view it as essentially paying $450 for 60,000 MR (possibly fewer if I continue getting targeted offers). As much as it pains me, I'm going to resist and keep my once-in-a-lifetime bonus option open.

Gift cards can give you some value with the $200 credit, but waiting until you can use the perks is probably best. 75k or 100k could easily return soon. Between layovers and guests, I'll have like 15-20 person-segments in the next year, so plan to use the perks very frequently.

I think PRG has gone to 75k.

I figured. Just curious. I've been seeing people saying they're getting increase / "seeing the love button" but I wasn't positive if it was HP or SP. My account always has the option for an increase ( I guess because I never go for it) but don't want an increase on that avcount...perhaps not even with a SP really. It will only potentially prevent me from getting increase or higher SLs on cards that are useful instead of useless...

Good call. Wife just went from 5K to 10K on her BBR. TU pull that will be gone in a couple of months. ;)

I always call rather than push that button, and tell the CSR I do not authorize a HP. I realize that's not always foolproof, but it has worked for me so far.

Meaning when you call and do that it's a SP?
